Forgotten cultures is material and literature research. This project existed out of two parts. The first one is learning textile techniques, like sowing, embroidery and weaving. The second part is the research about cultures that got abused by colonial empires. Because of the horror of the colonial history these cultures keep their beliefs hidden and are a mystery for the world. I find these cultures very interesting and the way they tell stories mesmerizing. With this project, I wanted to show the beauty of the cultures and that these “forgotten cultures” aren’t forgotten at all, but only kept save for their sake to survive against the western the western influence.
